Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's tale combines football scholarships for his parents and a commitment to his community. Selmon is the youngest of children of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They had him raised on their farm in Eufala. Two football. He is one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. All three became All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award as the nation's best lineman. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. Also, they won two national championships. A third scholarship saw him named as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Lee Roy's fourth volunteer service was ten-hours per week of volunteer time in the college. He moved to Tampa after graduation, and was a member of the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and was three-times all-pro. His business career began. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's top 10 young men. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds when he was a student athlete. He captained the 1975 team. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as the associate director of sports. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame named his in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
