Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton escaped the struggles in her early life by using her creative and imaginative imagination. Before she was able to write and read, she began to compose her own songs. Once she had her first guitar at the age of eight, she started to play on local radio stations from Knoxville, Tennessee. Gold Band Records is a small label that is independent. Her name was made in the local scene while at high school, but wanted to perform on a larger stage. The day she graduated from high school, it was 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner began looking for women to sing for his television show that was syndicated approximately the same time. Parton was offered the gig in 1967 and signed to RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The band split in 1974 after her own singles such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene outsold the collaborations. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached the top spot at No. This was the first time a single reached No.
